MailMeter Message Capture
MailMeter uses a single archive for both storage management and compliance. It will
single instance storage both messages and attachments for efficiency. An SQL Server full text index is used for searching in messages and attachments. All rich text and attachments are stored as encrypted, compressed, flat files.
MailMeter Provides Flexible Message Capture:
- History Capture - import messages from your existing email server. This is normally a one time process when you first begin your archive. You can select any or all mailboxes. MailMeter will process all the messages in the selected mailboxes and import them into the archive. The History Capture process will not affect other users on your email server.
- PST Import - import messages from any PST. MailMeter will process PSTs from existing or past employees and capture their messages into the archive.
- Compliance - capture messages from the standard journaling facility in your email server. This ensures all messages are captures for regulatory purposes - Sarbanes-Oxley, Freedom of Information Act, Sunshine laws, FINRA, etc.
- Selective - capture messages older than "n" days or in specific folders. If you do not want or need to capture all messages, MailMeter can select messages that meet your criteria by age, folder, domain, etc.
- Attachments - capture attachments and shrink message size. MailMeter Storage Manager will capture attachments on messages that meet your criteria that are not already in the archive.
